Microsoft to End Support for Windows 11 24H2 Home and Pro Editions

Brief

Microsoft has issued a 60-day reminder that Windows 11 Home and Pro editions, version 24H2, will reach the end of updates on October 13, 2026.

After that date, affected devices will no longer receive Microsoft’s monthly security updates or non-security preview releases, leaving systems increasingly exposed to newly discovered vulnerabilities and malware activity.

The deadline applies to Windows 11 Home, Pro, Pro Education, and Pro for Workstations deployments running version 24H2.

Microsoft released the feature update on October 1, 2024, giving consumer and business-focused editions the standard 24-month servicing window under the Windows servicing model . For cybersecurity teams, the end-of-support date is more than an administrative milestone.
